Wait for background jobs to finish in fish shell.

If you are on fish shell >=3.0 you can use $last_pid with wait.

Installation

With Fisher

fisher install re3turn/fish-await re3turn/fish-last-job-id

Usage

Wait until the specified jobs are finished.

set -l pid

for code in $commands
    fish -c "$code" &
    set pid $pid (jobs --last | command awk '/^[0-9]+\t/ { print status = $1 } END { exit !status }')
end

await $pid

Customize spinners.

set -g await_spinners ◢ ◣ ◤ ◥

Customize interval between spinners.

set -g await_interval 0.1
