This is the final Takehome project for the Hinge Health Backend Software Engineer role.
Inside this project are a couple of essential files that should get you up and running. Please look through them for notes and clues.
The high level overview is as follows.
We want to build a scheduled survey application consumed by mobile clients via a JSON API.
Users belong to teams that go through a 12 week program. Throughout these 12 weeks, a series of surveys should be presented to users.
There are two components to surveys: the definitions and obligations (look at the corresponding models). Definitions are created by admins. They represent one submittable survey with a schedule and expected submission format. There should only ever be about 4 or 5 in the database. Obligations are generated per-user-per-definition-per-week. If there’s 2 definitions with 3 weeks each, and 4 users in the database, there should be 2 * 3 * 4 = 24 obligations in the database.
Start by looking at the routes, migrations, models, and controllers. In terms of what’s needed, you need to make the requested routes (routes.rb) work given with the provided code and specifications. This will require adding to the models and controllers. Make sure to use the survey_definitions rspec factory!
