This repo contains code to query the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) for the number of articles with keywords "animal ethics", "animal legislation", "animal welfare", "animal rights" for each year from 1970 to 2023. To get the data, run download_data.sh followed by raw_data_to_total.sh.
