CIS 542 PROJECT README ====================== Project Name - Smart Sensing Project Contributors ==================== Pranav Sahay Shanjit Singh Jajmann Sanketh Shetty Rohit Dureja File Structure ============== Client +++++++ The client folder contains the code for each node whether an actuator or a sensor. Building the makefile and running main.cpp with 3 arguments, <ipaddress of the server> <port> <int (nodetype)> For example, if the IP address of the server is 192.168.1.1 and the port number is 9999. To initialise an actuator, ./main.o 192.168.1.1 9999 2 To initialize a sensor, ./main.o 192.168.1.1 9999 1 File Description ---------------- threads.cpp / threads.h - Creates a threads object with functions binding it to the TCP connection for sending and receiving data from the server - Runs four thread member functions 'sender', 'worker', 'receiver' and 'sensing'. - Maintains sending and receiving queues of frame objects using threads, locks and conditional variables. Busy waiting is removed. tcp_client.c / tcp_client.h - Manages TCP socket connection. - Converts received string to frames. - Sends strings obtained from frames. packet.cpp / packet.h - Defines frame class. Server ++++++ The server folder contains the code for the server. Building the makefile and running server.o. For example, ./server.o starts the server File Description ---------------- nodes.cpp / nodes.h - Contains server logic - Maintains sensor, actuator maps and handles different messages - Contains class definitions of Actuator, Sensor and Server_main threads.cpp / threads.h - Creates a threads object with functions binding it to the TCP connection for sending and receiving data from the server - Runs two thread member functions 'sender' and 'receiver'. - Maintains sending and receiving queues of frame objects using threads, locks and conditional variables. Busy waiting is removed. tcp_connect.c / tcp_connect.h - Manages TCP socket connection. - Converts received string to frames. - Sends strings obtained from frames. packet.cpp / packet.h - Defines frame class.
