Unreal .psk Skeletal Mesh importer for 3ds Max

ABOUT

PSKImport is a 3ds Max importer plugin for Unreal Engine PSK mesh files. Its main purpose is data recovery. If you lose your .max files, you can now import the PSK mesh back into Max, edit where needed, and export back using ActorX.

COMPATIBILITY

  • Tested on 3ds Max 2009 32bit, Windows XP SP2, on random UE2/UE3 files

INSTALLATION

  • Shutdown 3ds Max
  • Copy PSKImport.dli to your 3ds Max plugins directory

SUPPORTED FEATURES

  • Mesh
    • Per-face smoothing groups (if present)
    • Per-face material id's
    • Single UVW map
    • Single MultiMaterial with proper amount of SubMaterials
  • Skin modifier
    • Skeleton hierarchy using Max bone objects
    • Vertex weights
  • Wire colors
    • mesh is blue
    • bones without influences are red
    • other bones are green

You can export all back to PSK (using ActorX) straight after import. The re-exported file will be compatible with your existing PSA anims.
