This sounds like more of a pynucastro question than a question directly
related to the self heating network. Or if I were to dig a bit deeper, I
think your question is really related to how astrophysicists frequently
write 1 amu ~ 1 / N_A. Frank Timmes has a nice introductory set of lectures
laying out some of these conventions (
