AudioRec is the most simple audio recorder for python. Record any sound from your standard recording device to WAV or MP3. Simply hit start with given duration - done.

To download AudioRec, Clone this repository and add AudioRec folder into your project folder:

cd AudioRec
pip install -r requirements
Install ffmpeg for converting
# on Ubuntu or Debian
sudo apt update && sudo apt install ffmpeg
# on Arch Linux
sudo pacman -S ffmpeg
# on MacOS using Homebrew (https://brew.sh/)
brew install ffmpeg
# on Windows using Chocolatey (https://chocolatey.org/)
choco install ffmpeg
# on Windows using Scoop (https://scoop.sh/)
scoop install ffmpeg

Make sure ffmpeg is installed

When you initialize a recorder, you can define the chunk-size, the channels (2 for stereo default) and the bitrate (44100 Hz default).
rec = Recorder(chunk=1024, channels=1, rate=16000)
