I have my Homey in Swedish and enjoy the text to speech function, especially for calendar events which this kick-ass app enables.
However the Todays events have some description text which in not translated to native languish set in the Homey. In my case swedish.
Ofc it would be awesome to have the entire app translated to every available languish but I just care for this specific part translated to Swedish at least

I want to fine tune the dutch translation a little bit.
I first want to know what you think of the translation of "event" or "events", we in Belgium and Netherlands understand the word events but the 100% right translation if i'm right is "gebeurtenis" or "gebeurtenissen".
It is a bigger change in the translation but a right one don't you think?
I will update the translation if it's okay for you.

Hi Liam, Thank you for the feedback. There is a difference in using the word: ‘event’ or ‘gebeurtenis in the Dutch language. An ‘[event’ is (almost) always planned. A ‘gebeurtenis’ is more general and often has to do with a moment. Examples of ‘gebeurtenissen': - Something that gets in the news - To graduate - Buy a bicycle - Visit someone Examples of an event: - A concert - A festival - A party I think the word 'events' is still the best word choice for use in the icalCalendar app. Certainly in the Netherlands the word ‘gebeurtenis' is never used when making an agenda item. Thats right. A word for discussion. Gebeurtenis is used in a few calendar apps to create an appointment,... , that why I was looking to "gebeurtenis" instead of event. Because a "gebeurtenis" can be an event like a festival, party,... but can also be an (business) appointment. An event in dutch is not allways on the right place for an "agenda"/calendar.
So thats why I wrote this comment, I think that it would be more correct in general. I focus also my translation on larger companies like Outlook Calendar, Zoho calendar, Nine Calendar, Google calendar, thunderbird calendar function,...

Correct, but thats a writing, saying difference. Like at the most of the time you say "ik zal de afspraak in mijn agenda plaatsen". niet een event of activiteit (wat het af en toe ook kan zijn als het gaat over een feestje, gaan zwemmen,...) It is correct that the both words are used sometimes, but at the most of the time in a general word that describes everything it is: "gebeurtenis".

Hi Liam, The basis for the icalCalender app is your own agenda. In the Dutch language you always say or write: I will put an appointment, event or activity in my agenda. The most general coverage of these 3 words is: ‘event'. It is fine with me to change the word ‘event' into ‘activity’ (Dutch: activiteit) but certainly not into ‘gebeurtenis’. This word is in The Netherlands never used in combination with an agenda. I saw in your mail that you wrote: “we in Belgium….”. Does this mean you from Belgium? In that case the question is not change the Netherlands-Dutch version but to add a Belgium-Dutch version. I do not know if it will be technical possible to have a Belgium-Dutch (Vlaams) version of the app. This is a question for the owner of the app. Kind regards, Rob

Hi,
No problem, thats why I asked/started this discussion to know what you think and event is not completely wrong like I said above.
Homey is just existing in general Dutch. So not seperated for Flemish and Dutch. What in my opinion is unnessasary, because we understand everything from eachother.

I have added a new trigger and a new setting to the app
I used Google translate on these, but i suspect there may be some wrong transalations 😅

I'm not able to revise the de.json file. There is only one little mistake. event_starts_calender.json was no problem.
What should I do?
You can not edit the file directly in my project. You need to fork it and/or pull the new changes. Then make the correction in your forked project and make a pull request to my project.
Or you could just post the changes here and i'll update them
@runely, I forked the project again, I pulled the new changes but the file de.json wasn't updated in my repository. I guess I'm doing something wrong?

Dutch translation:
have problems with the two texts "nl": "Looptijd in minuten", and "nl": "Looptijd",
I think it would be much more clear if you change them in to "Tijdsduur" and "Tijdsduur in minuten",
but only if the origin translators do agree, thanks. ( I was confused by the current text, I thought the walking time to the kids school was meant in the example).
