macOS setup

Either run the following:

/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/s1gtrap/dotfiles/HEAD/install.sh)"

or follow the step-by-step:

  1. Install Homebrew:

    1. Run

      /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"

    2. Don't forget to change .zprofile for PATH changes as noted after install:

      % cat .zprofile 

eval "$(/usr/local/bin/brew shellenv)"

Setup on all platforms

  1. Install Antigen

    1. Run

      git clone git@github.com:zsh-users/antigen.git ~/.antigen

  2. Generate SSH key:

    ssh-keygen -o -a 120 -t ed25519
    1. Upload to wherever necessary: https://github.com/settings/keys

  3. Load these dotfiles in accordance with https://www.atlassian.com/git/tutorials/dotfiles

    alias config='/usr/bin/git --git-dir=$HOME/.cfg/ --work-tree=$HOME'
echo ".cfg" >> .gitignore
git clone --bare git@github.com:s1gtrap/dotfiles.git $HOME/.cfg
alias config='/usr/bin/git --git-dir=$HOME/.cfg/ --work-tree=$HOME'
config checkout

  4. Install Neovim with brew install neovim

  5. Install iTerm2 with brew install --cask iterm2

  6. Install other utilities brew install the_silver_searcher ripgrep tree
