Team-Profile-Generator

The Team Profile Generator is a command-line-input application run in Node that requests information from the user about members of an engineering team and generates an HTML file displaying that information. Before running the application the user must perform an npm install to install all required dependencies.

Installing

  1. Copy the clone link of the repository from GitHub.
  2. Open Bash or Terminal Window.
  3. When the console opens, navigate to the directory the repository will be added to. Remember to use the command cd to change directories.
  4. In the console, type the command git clone and paste the link to repository.
  5. Open repository in preferred code editor.
  6. Open terminal in code editor.
  7. Type in terminal npm i or npm install to install dependency packages needed.
  8. Ensure the following packages are installed.

  • Inquirer
  • Jest

Usage

  1. The user needs to navigate to index.js file in terminal.
  2. The user types node index.js to initiate the team manager's prompt questions. The user answers each question. Then, will be asked to add a team member.
  3. Once the user has added all members desired and selected 'I don't want to add any more team members' as their option. The user's input will be added to specific sections of the HTML.
  4. The HTML file will be stored in a folder. When user opens the HTML file, it will display a nicely formatted team roster with contact information based on their input.
