Forklore is a Recipe Book Database Management System built to streamline your culinary adventures. From user authentication to seamless integration with real-world dining experiences, Forklore has you covered.

  • Explore Diverse Recipes: Browse through a diverse collection of recipes on the home page with engaging on-hover interactions featuring nutritional insights.
  • Interactive Recipe Engagement: Like recipes, leave comments, and even edit or delete your comments to actively engage with the community.
  • Detailed Recipe Pages: Dive into detailed recipe pages, complete with step-by-step preparation instructions and the option to order the dish from nearby restaurants. You can also scratch off ingredients you have in your basket.
  • Seamless Ordering: Integration with Google Maps API allows you to order the selected recipe from nearby restaurants, bridging the gap between recipe exploration and real-world dining experiences.

Getting Started

  1. Clone the repository:
  1. Set up XAMPP:
  • Install XAMPP and start Apache and MySQL services.
  1. Import the database:
  • Import the provided SQL file into your MySQL database.
  1. Run the application:
  • Navigate to the project directory and open it in your preferred code editor.
  • Start the XAMPP server.
  • Visit http://localhost/forklore in your web browser to access Forklore.
