install.mel makes Maya crash

I followed directions and watched the you tube explainer video on how to install the renderer. I drag and drop install.mel into Maya, restart it - but it crashes every time. I am using Maya 2018. What do I do? PLEASE assist.

We need more information about your system to troubleshoot this. Are you
using Windows 7 by any chance?
