This was a great exercise in familiarizing myself with Rails and the various components of a rails app - model, view, controller. It was great practice in routes and each piece needed to construct the entire app.
- first-run 2hours 26minutes
- second-run 1hour 34minutes
- third-run 1hour 2minutes
- fourth-run 41minutes
During the first-run I ran into an issue with <%= and <%. After struggling with several display/view bugs, a friend helped me realize that I was using <%= to iterate through all the Creatures in the index view instead of <%. Lesson learned. :)
The sticking point this entire project has been some syntax:
- creature versus Creatures
- @creature versus creature It's still a matter of practice and when in doubt try one and then the other.
