Changes by Shaddockh

Reason For Changes: This seemed to be a nice solid and well contained project that I could use with the Atomic Blueprint Library I've been constructing. Basically, this being an exercise in seeing if it could be converted to use some of the features of the blueprint library, namely the auto-creation of prefabs. I also made some (improvements?) to how Tiled could be integrated, by moving some of the metadata located in the parts.json files into tile attributes within Tiled.

Changes

  • Converted all of the prefabs to blueprints that are converted to prefabs by the Atomic Blueprint editor plugin that I've been building. The blueprints are located under Modules/blueprints

  • Some prefabs had to be tagged with prebuilt: true since they were complex. Shrine and Hut are examples of these. This basically means the prefab is constructed in the editor and even though a blueprint is defined for it, don't overwrite the existing prefab with a generated one.

  • Migrated all of the information contained within the parts.json files into the Tiled tileset definition.

  • Modified plat.js to extract the tile properties for each tile from the Tiled tileset definition instead of the parts.json file.

  • Saved the tileset with additional metadata to a common .tsx file that all of the maps share.

Adventure Suite Game

by JimMarlowe

Just unzip and load advsuite.atomic and run in the AtomicEditor, and you can deploy to your favorite platform, works on desktop and mobile.

How to play

Find the treasure chests with the gold in it. But watch out for the chests full of "fools gold" instead of getting a treat, you are sent back to a spawn point! You must find all the treasures to complete a level.

Adventure 1

The starter level, see the sights and find the treasure.

Adventure 2

More is better on the plains.

Adventure 3

Bigger is better too, a stress test for number of models.

Adventure 4

A rogue homage, complete with mazes, dont get lost.

TMX2SCENE

This game uses the TMX2SCENE utility (aka the Plat.js module) to create the levels. You use the Tiled editor to place map objects where you want them, then using the TMX2SCENE utility, it transforms the map instructions into 3D object. Bonus, you can change the map with Tiled at any time.

And yes, its real low poly, Jim is not made of bandwidth :) But it performs well everywhere, like on Android. Check the FPSes!

Assets
