Analysis of the San Francisco Police Department's emergency dispatch data

Primary LanguageJupyter Notebook

SFPD Emergency Dispatch Analysis Website

The SFPD Dispatch dataset contains emergency dispatch information for 10,000 emergency calls from January 2018. This site highlights some findings I found interesting from this dataset. Full data analysis code can be found in the Jupyter Notebooks above.
View live site here!

This website and all analysis code was done in March 2018 as part of the Capital One MindSumo computer science challenge found here.. Update: It ended up being distinguished as a top submission to the summit :)

Technologies/Libraries Used

This work would not be possible without amazing and free open-source data science libraries and front-end development tools.

  1. Python for Data Science ecosystem for data analysis (Jupyter Notebook, NumPy, Pandas)
  2. Tableau, Matplotlib, and Seaborn for data visualization
  3. Google Maps API for heatmaps
  4. HTML/CSS/JavaScript + Bootstrap for website creation
