Force VSync on causes black screen at launch

Describe the bug
When using VSync with "Force on", the game will black screen at startup. Using "Force off" or "Use 3d application settings" launches the game normally.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. open NVIDIA control panel
  2. VSync: Force on
  3. launch sm64ex

Expected behavior
Game to launch successfully with VSync enabled (and desired Hz, like 60Hz or 120Hz)

Desktop:

  • OS: Windows 11
  • GPU / Driver: NVIDIA 4090 RTX / 555.99
  • Browser: Chrome
  • Version: 128
  • Game Version: 6f7d974

You also had this issue with the PD port and it's the same thing here. Seems to be something funny with either your particular setup or how NVIDIA handles this. Don't force vsync in the driver panel, sm64ex has a vsync setting and it defaults to on.
