Crime-Project
Police Departments currently rely on historical data instead of current criminal trends to determine high frequency crime zones. The solution to improve this system, has multiple steps. One cluster analysis is necessary to create heat maps of crime types by geographic location. PROC FREQ, PROC SORT, and MERGE in SAS® allows the locations of crimes to be grouped and then again by crime type to show distinct groupings of high incident areas. In relation to high frequent crime areas, each incident is classified by a unique identifier in order to track crime trends by criminal and eventually nearest neighbor to other criminals. After conducting all necessary steps, the data will be set up to use predictive models to tell where the next crimes will occur by a criminal with prior history.
