Helm stores configuration based on the XDG base directory specification, so
- cached files are stored in $XDG_CACHE_HOME/helm

Can you run helm version
for me and also try doing a install of --version master
Also, try doing rm -rf ~/.helm/cache
and running the install again.
This should be resolved on master. If not please let me know.
