Visualizing-The-Gender-Gap-In-College-Degrees
This repository contains the Python code to analyse data on the gender gap for 17 categories of degrees in US universities. The data, which is from The Department of Education Statistics, contains the percentage of bachelor's degrees granted to women in US from 1970 to 2012. Note that the data I use here was cleaned by Randal Olson, a data scientist at University of Pennsylvania. The dataset is stored in the "percent-bachelors-degrees-women-usa.csv" file. Each column in the dataset represents a category of degree. Using visualizations by Python pandas package, we'll explore how we can communicate the nuanced narrative of gender gap using effective data visualization

Personality prediction is an important application area of affective computing. The process of assessing the personality of users is proposed in this project using questionnaires answered by the user and classifying the personality according to MBTI traits. This project proposed a framework in which some questions are to be answered by the user. Every question has an option in the form of agree or disagree and then the model predicts the personality of the user from the 16 MBTI traits with a description of personality trait based on the questions answered. This project used deep learning approach. Recurrent Neural Network(RNN) along with Long Short-Term Memory units (LSTM) is used to develop this project. Accuracy of the proposed model achieved is 64.5 which could overcome the average accuracy of personality prediction classifier made while previously it was 55% using RNN. This model which makes use of Questionaries’ can be used as a feedback system in academics and organisation for improving the quality of life of students and employees.

To propose an innovation in recruitment system based on the usage of various networking websites like Linkedin, Twitter, version control systems like GitHub and competitive coding platforms. It is aimed to develop an automation in placement prediction at college level which predicts the chances of undergraduate students getting placed in an IT company and helps in profiling a candidate before the recruitment process starts. It involves the use of machine learning model of k-nearest neighbor algorithm as base model to classify students or users into appropriate clusters and the result would help them in improving their skills and other mindset. The results of the same is also compared with the results obtained from other models like logistic regression, random forest and SVM for optimal solution. With various data mining and machine learning techniques, this proposition would help both students as well as recruiters during placements and other recruitment activities.
