Cannot connect to Google Drive when two-factor authentication is active

Closed this issue · 10 comments

Google does not allow to connect an account to Fusion Sheeter in case two-factor authentication is active, as the app is deemed not to be safe.

I also get

Tried doing this:

But it doesn't seem to help

I also tried a different account which doesn't have 2FA:

and I still get the same error:

(also Fusion hangs during this time and needs to be halted)

To others having the same issue. Here is a workaround...

I made my own API key at
https://developers.google.com/docs/api/quickstart/python

and edited the relevant details in client_secret.json
I changed client_id and client_secret and left the rest as-is

You also need to go to a special URL to enable Google Sheets API for the API key which is generated. This URL is shown in a popup error messagebox when you try to use FusionSheeter.

The developer should just be able to get the app verified by google again. This happened to a lot of apps after they updated their security.

OK @elliotwoods @FonsVr @muskatre I have finally worked out some Autodesk logistics and have spent the day getting everything setup with Google and my account (what a massive process....). I am going to be doing some migrations of this app so likely you will have to download an update that will be coming soon. I have submitted the app for verification. Google says it may take up to a few weeks for this process to complete. I think I may have a solution for you in the short term though. Will post an update soon.

Fantastic. Great to hear.

hello everyone. Its a long story, but I have everything setup with Google. To move forward you need to get the new version here: https://n3rdlab.com/downloads/sheeter/
I'm going to be archiving this repo still figuring out a bunch of logistics, but this should get you back up and running. Had to move the App to an "organization."
