You need a CNC router, and optionally a laser cutter.
Cut the OpenSCAD designs taiko drum top plate.scad
and taiko drum bottom plate.scad
. Look at the first 2 pictures below for the look of the top and bottom plates.
Attach a piezo sensor to each one of the 4 pieces from taiko drum top plate.scad
. Then connect them to Apricot's Taiko I/O Dongle (「杏」接続機, Author Twitter @apricot_taiko, YouTube @apricot_taiko; I tested with v2.1).
Mount those wood pieces using vibration isolators. Get a drum skin that is same in size as the original arcade machine (diameter 427 mm). Done!
Mounting holes are designed for 1/4" studs and 7/16" width nuts.
