Tool to send message to backers of startnext-projects. This tool uses Scrapy to navigate startnext.com in order to send a predefinded message to all backers of a particular project.

After having installed Scrapy, clone the repo, navigate to the repo and start the spider.

cd startnext-messaging
scrapy crawl start
The crawler will then lead you through the crawling process, just follow the prompts.
The crawler will ask you to enter your login-credentials each time. You can also set them manually in the spider, see 3.3.

If you want, you can enable a confirmation, before sending each message. Simply uncomment lines 112 - 119 and comment line 120 in startnext/startnext/spiders/start.py
The crawler will now ask you for confirmation before sending each message.
The message is located in line 101. You can simply edit the message to suit your needs. Simply remember to insert breaks with \n.
The spider takes care of converting the message before sending it to the server.
You can set the login-credentials in the parse-function. Simply input your credentials into the request (line 25) and delete lines 21 - 22.
Please consider setting CONCURRENT_REQUESTS and DOWNLOAD_DELAY in the settings.py or enabling the Scrapy Autothrottle-extension before running the spider. This eases the load on the server by not hitting it with to many requests at once.
