* What is Furnace? *

Furnace is a grid-enabled version of NCBI BLAST [1].

o NOTICE           - Licence notices for libraries used in Furnace.
o RELEASE-NOTES    - Release notes for this & previous releases.
o lib/             - Libraries required by Furnace at runtime, see below for details.


* Documentation *

* Installation *

Note. Furnace requires a Unix or Unix-like operating system, and may not work
      on non-Unix systems.

1. Downlaod and install BLAST [1] on each grid node.

2. Configure BLAST with the database:

  1. Unzip etc/database/human3UTR.zip
  2. $ /opt/blast/bin/formatdb -i human3UTR.fas -p F -o T
  3. $ cp etc/database/human3UTR.fas* /opt/blast/data/

2. Download and install GridGain [2] on each grid node.

3. Start GridGain:

  $ /opt/gridgain/bin/gridgain.sh

4. Run it...

  $ ./build.sh sequence
