Summary

Installing nvidia-docker in an offline environment is tricky. Here are some steps and canned artifacts to speed up the process.

The artifacts have been collected from open source Linux distributions using the standard package management tools.


1. Platform x86_64-centos7

1.1 Quick Start -- This is all you need to do

Step 1: Install docker-ce. This is a requirement for nvidia-docker2.

Step 2: Download and install nvidia-docker2.

wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/tomkraljevic/nvidia-docker2-install/master/x86_64-centos7.tar
tar xvf x86_64-centos7.tar
yum install x86_64-centos7/*.rpm

Assembly procedure:

Step 1: Start a docker container.

(Mount a volume so there is a place to copy the tarball once you have it.)

docker run -ti --init --rm -v /home/tomk/out:/out centos:7

Step 2: Fetch the artifacts and tar them up.

yum install -y yum-utils device-mapper-persistent-data lvm2
yum-config-manager --add-repo https://download.docker.com/linux/centos/docker-ce.repo
yum install docker-ce
curl -s -L https://nvidia.github.io/nvidia-docker/centos7/x86_64/nvidia-docker.repo | tee /etc/yum.repos.d/nvidia-docker.rep
mkdir x86_64-centos7
yum install --downloadonly --downloaddir=x86_64-centos7 nvidia-docker2
tar cvf x86_64-centos7.tar x86_64-centos7
