URL Shortener called Shorty

Shorty is a rails app that takes any URL and shortens it to a unique five character URL.

Getting Started

  1. git clone git@github.com:troystarwalt/shorty-url.git
  2. cd shorty-url
  3. ./bin/setup
  4. ./bin/webpack-dev-server
  5. rails s

Ruby version

I've built this on 2.4.1 using rails 5.1.2

Production Seeds

I've setup some real fake data for playing around with the tool. It's setup as a rake task:

rake shorties:seed_urls
