Passport strategy for authenticating with HumanAPI using the OAuth 2.0 API.
$ npm install passport-humanapi
The HumanAPI authentication strategy authenticates users using a HumanAPI account and
OAuth tokens. The strategy requires a verify
callback, which accepts these credentials and calls done
providing a user, as well as options
specifying a consumer key, consumer secret, and callback URL.
passport.use(new HumanApiStrategy({
consumerKey: HUMANAPI_APP_ID,
consumerSecret: HUMANAPI_APP_SECRET,
callbackURL: "http://127.0.0.1:3000/auth/humanapi/callback",
},
function(token, tokenSecret, profile, done) {
User.findOrCreate({ userId: profile.id }, function (err, user) {
return done(err, user);
});
}
));
Use passport.authenticate()
, specifying the 'humanapi'
strategy, to
authenticate requests.
For example, as route middleware in an Express application:
app.get('/auth/humanapi',
passport.authenticate('humanapi'),
function(req, res){
// The request will be redirected to HumanAPI for authentication, so this
// function will not be called.
});
app.get('/auth/humanapi/callback',
passport.authenticate('humanapi', { failureRedirect: '/login' }),
function(req, res) {
// Successful authentication, redirect home.
res.redirect('/');
});
