The estimation of 3D coordinates of an object using cameras has been a well researched topic in Photogrammetry. Common methods usually utilise cameras having two or more lenses which are known as stereo cameras. The proposed method is able to estimate with reasonable accuracy the 3D coordinates of an object with a simple, consumer grade camera with a single lens albeit with certain imposed constraints.
