Description

Afghani Trail is a text based role-playing game based on the popular Oregon Trail game. The game is about escaping from the taliban, and trying to maneuver through modern day Afghanistan unnoticed by the oppressive AL-Qaeda based operatives. The player assumes the role of a pilgrim, or rural farmer guiding a party of settlers from Kandahar, Afghanistan, into Afghanistan's northern province called Herat, in attempts to relocate away from NATO and coalition fighting for control of the region, and ultimately escape and seek asylum within Iran. The player will try to start a new life by settling in Herat, or potentially seeking asylum in Iran. Along the way the player can make decisions, shop for supplies or rest. In starting town, Kandahar, players can shop for their supplies.

After player buys their supply and equipment, player will start their journey to the south eastern steppes of Afghanistan, off to Iran. Players are required to carry food for their entire journey, in addition to medicine, ammunition to hunt local wildlife, and defend themselves from extremists. An important aspect of the game is the ability to hunt. Using guns and bullets bought over the course of play, players will be able hunt wild animals to add to their food reserves, in addition to killing muslim extremists.

Along the way characters will be experiencing illnesses and even death. The party could die from various causes, such as measles, malaria, exhaustion, typhoid, cholera, and, dysentery. The wagon could break down in the journey and player is required to fix it. Players must also plan carefully and stock their supplies as needed. The players task is simple, to take their party to Herat with adequate supplies to survive the journey. The game is over when the party reaches the destination, or they succumb to terrorists or an otherwise grim end.
