This repository is a collection of useful (at least for me) functions that interact with the ArcGIS Online Platform via the ArcGIS Python Api.

Files

  • simple_arcgis_online_functions.py shows how to upload/overwrite an existing AGOL item and shows how to export/download data from an AGOL item in different file formats (GeoJson, File GDB, Shapefile)
  • example1_update_water_protection_areas.py shows how to overwrite an existing AGOL item
  • tutorial_1_create_new_hosted_feature_layer_collection.py shows how to create a new service in AGOL, append new data to AGOL and modify (add, update, delete) the attribute fields of an AGOL layer
