Have you guys used bubbleupnp? It works out of the box with volumio. It streams music from your android phone ( and more) to rpi. I'd say it is a mice replace to volumio's webui.

I was reading a tutorial about configuring rpi to work as a renderer, while intalling the APP in my phone . after launching the APP got surprised with an already working renderer: volumio. It is great, also syncs with the web UI. Very nice indeed.
