This repo contains a research reproduction of the paper The Linux Scheduler: a Decade of Wasted Cores by Lozi et. al.
The full critique, results, and addendum can be located in the pdf file.
We begin by writing a critique of the paper itself, focusing on the methodologies employed.
For the reproduction, we boot Alpine Linux with patches applied and not applied. The full overview of how we reproduced the results can be located in the file reproduction_steps.txt
We also include an addendum to our critique in the final pdf. This addresses issues we had while reproducing the results.
