Useful chatbot for quickly grabbing UMD-specific information within Facebook Messenger. Implements the UMD api that can be found at umd.io Need to enter personal Facebook Username and Password for it to work, have Nodejs installed, and install the facebook chatbot api using npm install facebook-chat-api in command/terminal.
3 main functionalities (as of now):
- Entering a UMD coursename (4-letter code followed by 3 digits) returns the full description of that class. For example, sending CMSC131 returns Corequisite: MATH140; and permission of CMNS-Computer Science department.Introduction to programming and computer science. Emphasizes understanding and implementation of applications using object-oriented techniques. Develops skills such as program design and testing as well as implementation of programs using a graphical IDE. Programming done in Java.For CMSC majors only.". (has to be an actual coursename at UMD)
- Entering the 3-digit ID of a UMD bus route returns the full name of the bus (ex: 115 returns 115 Orange, indicating that the orange bus takes route 115) 3.Entering a color changes the chat color. (ex: chatting "red" changes the chat colors to red)
