Firefly aims to provide early detection of wildfires by using commercial airplanes as aerial monitors. By equipping them with specialized infrared sensors on their undersides, we harness their daily flight routes to monitor vast areas prone to wildfires. With the aid of state-of-the-art AI/ML algorithms, Firefly further looks to parse the data collected by these flights to accurately detect active fires on the ground.
