CRITICAL: Wrong values computed for Young's modulus

Due to a mistake in the design of the underlying numerical simulations, the Young's modulus computed from cell area and deformation, as currently implemented in ShapeOut/dclab, is wrong.
As a result, the Young's modulus of small cells is underestimated.

Currently, new simulations are underway and will be implemented in ShapeOut/dclab as soon as possible.

Deviation in values of E are as follows for the LUT implemented in ShapeOut for a 20 um channel:

deviation_in_e_20um_channel

and for an extended version of the LUT (also in a 20 um channel):

deviation_in_e_20um_channel_extended

The mistake affects small cells the most. If the object diameter is less than 70 % of the channel size the values of E were underestimated by from about 5 % and up to 60 % for much smaller cells.

The new and correct LUT is this:

elastic_LUT.txt

For a 20 um channel it covers the following region (values are calculated for a flow rate of 0.04 ul/s and a viscosity of 15 mPa s

area_vs_defo_20um_channel_0 04ul_per_s_15mpas

The isoelasticity lines retrieved from this LUT are the following:
