• The problem seen in https://github.com/atom/spell-check/issues/67#issuecomment-377808833 should be resolved by https://github.com/atom/spell-check/pull/246. That fix is included in Atom 1.26-beta2 (released today) and will be part of Atom 1.26 stable when it is released.
