C++ library for non photorealistic rendering. Includes a paint renderer based on Kubelka Munk equations, stroke based rendering algorithms and artistic image filters.

Primary LanguageC++MIT LicenseMIT

painty CMake build clang-format

Library containing several algorithms for:

  • Image processing.
  • Non photorealistic rendering: painterly rendering, image abstraction and stylization.
  • Paint rendering and realistic mixing.
  • Color conversions.
  • ... and more to come.

Paint Renderer

  • Implementation of the Kubelka-Munk equations.
  • 2d imprint brush (3d on the roadmap).
  • 2d texture brush.
  • Realistic paint mixing.

Image Stylization and Non Photorealistic Rendering

  • Image convolution wrapper for OpenCV.
  • Flow fields of images.
  • Edge detectors.
  • Superpixel segmentation.

Implementation of the image abstraction filter proposed by Kyprianidis, et al.

Color Palette Extraction from RGB Images

Extract color palettes from images based on base pigments. The solver esimates absoprtion and scattering coefficients of each paint as a mixture from the base pigments.
