seeking clarification on perl5 requirement

"perl5 (5.6.0)" is listed as a requirement.
On my machine, /usr/bin/perl is v5.18.4. But note that the filename (and thus the command name) is "perl", not perl5. Will I need to create a symlink in my path called perl5?
