What is the purpose of a SyncedSubscriberLeaf?

Why isn't it documented anywhere?

Should it be copy-pasting code from SubscriberLeaf, or be calling the definitions in SubscriberLeaf?

Why does it matter? I'm about to make an enhancement to SubscriberLeaf, it would be nice if those improvements propagated up naturally.
