Enable test/directed.py

One good change in #260 that would be nice to have merged, is the directed.py test that was disabled during the ROS 2 port.

Considering the PR was raised more than 3 years ago, and the original author doesn't seem that active on Github, it may be better to move across the appropriate changes to another branch and get it merged.
