BurkinaSat-1 provide means for observing environment related large-scale phenomena such as the health of the vegetation, the expansion or contraction of the desert and the country’s geological features. The project also aims to support weather forecasting and pollution monitoring capabilities. The information gathered as part of this project would allow assessment of the country’s agricultural capabilities and improve planning of water and mineral resource extraction. The project will also provide an opportunity to broaden the public’s interest in science and education thanks to the exciting nature of space programs.
