This module will allow you to change the quote of USPS through Magento 1 backend. It will remove the number of days and only show the transaction methods.
Drag the files into your Magento core and clear the cache.
Go to:
System -> Configuration -> Sales -> Shipping Methods -> USPS -> Show Number of Days Option
If set to "No", "Priority Mail 1-Day", "Priority Mail 2-Day" and "Priority Mail 3-Day" will all show up as "Priority Mail".
