To help with newcomers there should be a encoder class that helps fetch the default ticks for each encoder.

Are you referring to this? Rev Through Bore: 2048 Cycles per Revolution (8192 Counts per Revolution)

Unfortunately no (though that would make sense it is now how through bores are programmatically represented) throughbores would be 1, the only way a encoder resolution could be different than 1 is if the device reads a value greater than -1 or 1, like falcons which read based off 2048...
