Image Output

I'm running the program from the command line (outside of Blender obviously) but I'm not get an output image. I'm passing in my file I want rendered and I was expecting that I would eventually see an output in the same directory as the executable but I don't. The application seems to be "working" as it runs for multiple minutes and then returns without error. Should I get an output image or How can I get an output?
