Working with the real robot in a docker container

Hi,
With regards to working with Docker and the real Panda robot, I have 2 questions

  • Can I run a docker container with Ubuntu 20, ROS noetic and the corresponding franka ros build on older ubuntu (say 16 with corresponding rt kernels)?
  • Does the container's ubuntu have to be patched with its corresponding rt kernel?

The clarification I was hoping for is that If I already have a desktop running Ubuntu 16 (+rt patch), do I need to construct an rt patched docker container as well?
