Differential Expression not running with lassoed selections

Ubuntu 20.04 cirro serve 1.1.22post1.
Differential Expression with jobs submit but never run if group 1 and group 2 are based on lassoed selections. DE runs fine if cells selected with levels of existing categories (eg clusters).
